Message From the President - November 2023

Gratitude for Members and Volunteers

Did I say ‘Thank You’ today? Did you?

While there is no calendar for gratitude, November - with Veterans’ Day and Thanksgiving - is a good time to pause, reflect, and give thanks.

As you know, your Westchester Chapter is run entirely on volunteer effort. Without the participation of these generous volunteers there would be no Chapter! No monthly meetings with outside experts bringing us the latest information and project tools. No Lunch & Learn, no Breakfast Roundtable. There would not be an Annual Symposium or a Winter Professional Development Day. No website. No sponsorship of the Toastmasters Club. We would not be able to welcome new members nor provide orientation to the Chapter’s programs. We would not be able to provide access to reasonably priced or free PDUs necessary to maintain certification.

For these reasons we want to say Thank You to our volunteers. And we want to show our gratitude by declaring November as Volunteer Appreciation Month and to honor our Volunteers at our December Chapter Meeting on December 12. The December meeting will feature a presentation by our PMI Chapter Partner, Sarah Maxwell, who will describe the key elements of PMI’s culture focusing on how ‘Together We Can Make It Happen’.

Attendance at the December 12th Chapter meeting will be free of charge for all our current and recently active volunteers. Watch for announcements of the venue and the exciting program.

We also want to acknowledge that there would be no Chapter without the members. So, thank you to all our members who joined this year and to those who renewed your membership. This is your Chapter, and your participation is a sign that we are bringing you programs and experiences you value. Please continue to provide input and suggestions to make our offerings even stronger. And watch for incentives to join the December 12 Appreciation Day in person!
