A Brand New Start!
I hope everyone is enjoying the last days of summer with family and friends. For me it was catching up with friends, seeing family, BBQs, vacation, kayaking, rock climbing, and chilling by the fire pit. The new PMI Westchester Board of Directors met over the summer to begin planning our next season and upcoming 15th anniversary. Back in August 2002, our founding father, Ed Mahler, started PMI Westchester. Now we celebrate our ever-growing chapter of 670+ members!!
One quick update: back in June we were going to ratify our by-laws with a membership vote. This is a PMI HQ requirement to ensure they are aligned with current chapter operations. You will hear in the next month or two from PMI regarding an electronic vote. Stay tuned for more details.
We also have a month full of learning and earning those precious PDUs. Executive Coach Uri Galimidi has put his years of experience working with CEOs, VPs, Directors, and Managers, to create a leadership methodology on three key skills that can propel your career forward in ways unimaginable. This learning session will include real case studies along with interactive audience discussion. Do not miss this chapter meeting!
Our very own David Kabat is starting up the next series of PMP Exam Preparation classes at the College of Westchester in White Plains, NY. These five 7-hour sessions are held on Saturdays starting October 14th through November 18th (excluding November 11th). There are still spots open so please visit our website to learn how to register.
And finally, our Breakfast Roundtable group, facilitated by Crystal Kennedy, will be discussing Business Relationship Management (BRM) and Project Management on September 26th. Crystal has been an Information Technology professional for almost 40 years, spanning 4 companies and both coasts. Crystal has been part of the PepsiCo family for 18 years. This is a virtual meeting so be sure to visit our website on how to attend this session.
See you at the Royal Palace on September 12th …
