While summer may be coming to a close - a point I may refuse to acknowledge - we at PMI Westchester have been working hard to bring you a hot fall line-up. We have several events going on and we want you to take full advantage of all of them. As you know, our goal is to provide as many opportunities as possible to network, learn, and volunteer. In fact, the Board of Directors is going to be doing just that in a few short weeks at PMI’s Annual North America Leadership Institute Meeting in Philadelphia, PA. This is a VERY special year as PMI turns 50!! Stay tuned as we are going to have some exciting news on how we plan to celebrate this monumental occasion. I’ll give you a little hint, plan on attending the November Chapter meeting.

We have a great speaker lined up for this month. Jeff Butler will be coming to us to discuss, “21st Century Leadership - How to Cultivate Leadership in Today’s Workplace”. Whether you are a Baby Boomer, Millennial or Generation X'er, the same rule applies: leaders speak with their actions, not with their words. So, it’s imperative that leaders understand how to stimulate action in adverse circumstances. He shows how anyone can develop leadership traits to create life-changing adjustments to get extraordinary results, whether that may mean getting a better following, group leadership, or inspiring others around you. For maximum impact, Jeff provides real-world, actionable tips to help attendees take immediate steps to apply his advice and grow as leaders in their own careers. Don’t forget to pre-register by Sunday, September 8th at 11:59pm on our website for this event!!
After the Chapter meeting our Communities of Practice (CoPs) will meet for you earn an extra PDU. We have three CoPs for you to choose from: Career & Personal Development, Quality, and PMO. Be sure to stick around for one of them to share your expertise with your colleagues.

Pagan, a 30-year military expert provide an interesting introduction to the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), which is a United States Army seven-step process for military decision-making. You will also learn about useful applications of project management in the military, including Pre-combat checks (PCCs) and Pre-combat inspections (PCIs). This is not a session you want to miss! Our Breakfast Roundtable team is back on Tuesday, September 24th.
