Message from the President - November 2017

We have returned from attending PMI’s Leadership Institute Meeting in Chicago, IL. We had the opportunity to hear, meet, and network with other chapter leaders from all over the country and the world. As the leadership team starts to work through all the potential ideas, I want to hear from you about how we can make your chapter more valuable. In the meantime, a few items I’m contemplating are possibly a lunchtime conference call by industry, networking events at a local business (hey, beer and wine making are projects), or partnering more with other volunteer organizations. If anything I’ve said sparks an interest in you, please connect with me at president@pmiwestchester.org.

This month we are bringing back speaker Andrew Tarwin. If you did not participate in our annual education event a few years ago, you definitely need to see him in person. His talk entitled, “It’s hard to be productive when you’re dead” focuses on effective ways to manage stress, increase productivity, and boost energy using humor. I guarantee you’ll be laughing through most of his presentation.

Our final Breakfast Roundtable meeting of the year discusses how to motivate your teams. Raymond Francis will talk about the different methodologies used in today’s environments. This is a virtual meeting so be sure to visit our website on how to attend this session.

Lastly, we are busy working on our Member Appreciation chapter meeting, to be held on Tuesday December 5th. We are planning on repeating last year with a one-hour cocktail event (drink ticket included) prior to our regular chapter meeting event. We will be starting at 5pm next month so be sure to mark your calendars.

See you at the Royal Palace on November 11th….

Brenda Horton, PMP
