Volunteer

The PMI Westchester Chapter is a volunteer-run organization. If there are positions for which we currently need volunteers, they are listed in the table below. To volunteer contact us at Volunteer@pmiwestchester.org.

The Chapter is always interested in ideas for new programs and people to run them. To suggest a new chapter program that you would like to pilot contact Brenda Horton, Chapter President, President@pmiwestchester.org.

Board directors and program managers can often use help in the form of committee volunteers. If you would like to get involved with an existing chapter program visit the Contacts page, contact the owner of the program, and offer to help.

In addition to the satisfaction you receive by participating in programs and lending your support to your local PMI Chapter, you will be able to earn PDU's as a volunteer. Service on the PMIW Chapter board for one year is worth 10 PDU's, and service in other volunteer positions is worth 5 PDU's per year.

Website Technical Support Program Manager

VP Communications and Marketing

Assist with supporting the technical aspects of the website in collaboration with the webmaster; marketing content program management (website, social media, marketing, emails etc).
Program Manager – Career and Professional Development

VP of Career and Professional Development

Continuously collaborate with program managers and VP of Career and Professional Development to design and maintain a strong professional development program for the Chapter.
Monthly Chapter Meeting MCs

VP Programs

MC a monthly meeting as scheduled; prepare for the presentation including speaker bio, go over the slides prior to the rehearsal, and communicate any discrepancies or inconsistencies to the VP Programs; participate in the rehearsal on a Monday prior to the monthly meeting and deliver the presentation on the day of the meeting. This position involves up to 2h of work, including a rehearsal before the event, for each meeting. One person is appointed for one monthly meeting.
Marketing Program Manager - Career and Professional Development

VP of Career and Professional Development

Support professional development programs in communication and marketing aspects, working on promoting the Symposium and educational courses; develop content for social media, email blasts, and PMIW website; the expected workload is 2h a week.
Content Editor - Programs

VP Programs

To maintain the programs part of the PMIW website, make all information on programs current and collaborate with the Communications team to ensure all the required functionalities are in place and working. This position involves 3 - 4h of work monthly. The appointment is for one year or longer if wanted.
Chapter Meeting & PPD Coordinator

VP Programs

Collects all the relevant information needed to update slide decks for the Chapter meetings and shares them with the Chapter Board on the Friday prior to monthly meetings; coordinates with the meeting MC to add relevant content to the monthly presentation; assists with speaker arrangements, technical and sound tests before the meeting. The role involves around 2 - 3 hours of work each month.
